Yeah, maybe put that down...
- Children should never play with or light fireworks.
- Adults should always keep a bucket of water handy in case of a malfunction or fire.
- Adults should read and follow all warnings and instructions before using fireworks.
- Adults should be sure that other people are out of range before lighting fireworks.
- Sparklers burn at such high temperatures that they burn clothing.
Fireworks are illegal in some states, so be sure to double-check if lighting some fireworks isn’t going to land you some huge fine. Although I can appreciate the tradition, I don’t think I’d ever let young kids light fireworks. Isn’t it just safer to sit back and watch a professional light show instead?

Thanks for the safety tips.
Thanks for the helpful – and brief! – safety tips. It's helpful to read about fireworks safety given this time of the year. I just recently read a blog about the dangers of fireworks on a New Jersey insurance agency's blog http://sharerandassociates.com/_blog/Our_Blog/pos... which was very, very informative. I strongly recommend taking a look!
Actually, I think children *should* play and light fireworks themselves under the supervision of a responsible adult (hopefully the parent). How else can we expect our kids to learn proper safety and usage of things like fireworks (or knives, guns, fires, etc.) without ever having any experience themselves doing it?
ALSO!!! Please please please keep your pets at home and inside!!! So many animals get killed and injured not only by fireworks but by cars and things because they are scared and running.
Personally, I don't think anyone but professionals should be setting off any sort of explosive. Sparklers are about as risky as I am comfortable being.
I don't think children should ever by playing with or lighting fireworks at all.
YES! BE CAREFUL!!!!
