Paintball can be a great sport for kids to play. However, proper safety tips must be followed when allowing children to participate in this sport. This article aims to inform you on the proper ways to keep children safe while playing paintball.

Paintball is a fairly dangerous sport by nature. However, it is also a very fun and rewarding experience. There are loads of regulations put in place by equipment manufacturers to ensure that their products are safe for users of all ages. However, in order for the equipment to be safe, proper gear must be worn and proper procedure practiced.

The first way to stay safe while playing Paintball is to make sure that the gear the child is using is quality gear. The most important piece of safety gear in Paintball is the Paintball mask. The mask covers the child’s eyes and face. It is important that any time a loaded Paintball gun is around, a mask is being worn. Eye injuries are the most common Paintball-related injuries, and a proper mask can reduce the risk of these injuries.

Whereas a mask is the only required safety equipment to play Paintball on a course, there are many other safety options that can make a child’s Paintball experience safer. An important factor in a child’s safety is the shoes that they wear. The child should wear a shoe that will not allow their ankle to roll easily. There is a lot of running around in Paintball, and ankle injuries can happen if proper shoes are not worn. Another option is torso protection. Torso protection can be anything from a Paintball vest, to a jean jacket, to a camouflage jacket. Torso protection will help keep the child safe from whelps and bruises accumulating on their torso.

It is also important to consider the operation of the Paintball gun. Proper operation of the gun is imperative in keeping children safe. The gun must be checked for any errors in functionality. Paintball guns are powered by CO2, and can be dangerous if not properly taken care of. CO2 gas is compressed inside of the CO2 tank, this gas is released when the user pulls the trigger. If the release mechanism is malfunctioning, it can explode violently and can cause injury. You must ensure that the gun’s barrel is clean and free of obstruction.

It is important to use quality paint balls. Low-quality paint balls can come out of the factory misshapen. If a ball is misshapen, it can cause the balls to explode prematurely. If a ball explodes prematurely, it can cause an obstruction in the barrel.

It is always important to consider safety when allowing a child to play Paintball.
