On Wednesday, April 4, 2018, Ryan’s two sons, ages 16 and 13, were driving on the freeway and collided with another car. The teenagers’ car, veered off the road, down an embankment, hit a tree and flipped over. Ryan is a therapist and was in the middle of a session when Life360 automatically dispatched emergency services for the boys, and a representative contacted him and his wife that there had been an accident.
“I never look at my phone during a patient session, but it kept buzzing and I knew there was something wrong as soon as my receptionist knocked on my door. I immediately left the office and used Life360 to direct me to my boys.”
When Ryan and his wife arrived on the scene, emergency services and the police were already there – and thankfully, the boys didn’t have a single scratch on them. The firefighters kept telling Ryan, “They were very, very lucky.” He politely corrected them and said, “Yes, they are very, very blessed.”
Ryan credits the blessed outcome to Life360. But he noted that this app was not only helpful for his family on that particular day, but also in their day-to-day lives. Initially, Ryan and his family downloaded the app because of the variety of features it offers. Ryan’s family values accountability, and wants his family to have access to him and know that he’s safe – and vice versa.
“I have four kids – so you can imagine our life gets a little hectic. We love using Life360 because I’m able to see that my kids are safe and where they’re supposed to be. For example, knowing my boys have a ride to and from school – that sort of thing is really helpful in the simplest way.”
