How to: Install Widgets on Android devices

If you ask me, widgets are one of the coolest features of the Android operating system. And if you keep asking, I’ll tell you that Life360′s widget is one of the best ones around! :)

How to install widgets is something we get asked on a pretty regular basis, so here’s a step-by-step tutorial to show you how to install them!

Step 1: Press and hold your finger on your Home screen After holding for a couple of seconds, a menu will pop up at the bottom of the screen.

Step 2: Select the “Widgets” option on that menu

Step 3: Scroll to the right until you reach the widget you want to install.

Step 4: Select the widget you’re installing and VOILA! You’re done! Now you can enjoy all that widget-y goodness!

Jellybean, when one presses the home screen, opens, instead, a choice of wallpapers.

Well, as of at least Android 4.0.3, which is what is running my Lenovo tablet, Widgets are now listed in the apps section, where you pull app launch icons from, but they are listed last. As best I can tell, one simply drags them onto a page, just like a launch icon.
I just found that out by playing around, so be aware of that.

            Hi Ned,
It sounds to me like it’s a tablet issue. We actually aren’t designed to run on an Android tablet… when we tested widget installation on a phone with Jellybean, it was the same as in the post.
So I’m not sure, other than the tablet concern.

The widget is missing in Samsung Galaxy core, probably due to screen res issue!! Please fix quickly!!!

      Hi Sunny!
We had to pull the widget for this version of the app, it will be back soon!
