Over the last few years, Life360 has grown tremendously and it’s all thanks to you – our dedicated Life360 members. You are the reason why we’ve been working tirelessly over the last year to build a new foundation on which we can provide more services and features that will make keeping your family close and connected even easier in 2019. Starting today, we are very proud to begin rolling out an improved Life360 experience to help your family stay even closer together.
So, what’s new?
An updated layout:
Busy families turn to Life360 to make daily life run smoother and we wanted to create an updated layout that was even simpler for families to use. This new format allows you to easily switch between circles & get faster access to your most used actions with the centralized “+” shortcuts menu.
We know that when you need to get in touch with family, you want to do it fast. So we’ve made messaging available from anywhere in the app – just tap the icon in the upper righthand corner and message your loved ones instantly.
We heard your feedback that some of our premium features like roadside assistance* and crash detection** were difficult to find in the app. In fact, a lot of you didn’t even know they existed… sorry! Now you can easily see and access all available services in the new Safety Tab. The Safety Tab is also where you will find your favorite features such as weekly driving reports and crime reports+.
And this is just the beginning. We are more dedicated than ever to building the world’s leading membership service for families. Throughout 2019, we’ll be introducing more new product features around safety, coordination, and togetherness with a few surprises along the way. We hope you’ll love as much as we do.

** *Crash detection is enabled when: the vehicle is moving at a sustained speed of at least 25 mph for at least 30 seconds before the collision; the vehicle has come to a complete stop after the collision; user’s phone has more than 20% battery life and not be in power saving mode; the phone’s WiFi settings are turned on; and you are in an area with strong cell phone reception (e.g. crash detection does not work in a tunnel). If you’re on a CDMA carrier (including Verizon, Sprint, and US Cellular), cell data doesn’t always work if you are on a phone call. If you’re on a phone call at the time of a car crash, we might not be able to detect it. Even if all the criteria mentioned are met, Life360 may not detect all major collisions due to network outages, algorithm error, availability of GPS location data, sensor error on the mobile device, and crash location outside of a wireless service coverage area among others.
