So a “man cave,” as defined by Wikipedia, is a “male sanctuary, such as a specially equipped garage, spare bedroom, media room, den, or basement.” A Google Image Search for “man cave” brings up good examples. So how there’s no Wikipedia entry for “woman cave”? Try doing an Image Search and you get images of cave women.
Finally, interior designers like New York’s Elaine Griffin are creating not “women caves” but “mom caves.” Sure, the idea is a little silly, but why shouldn’t mothers have a room for their own? In general, mothers need alone time the most.
When I was a kid, my father had a study that was built specifically for him. It was more or less a man cave. But now that I think about it, my mother had no space designated just for her. Seems unfair, now that I think about it.
To the mom cave!
