Our commitment to responsible advertising
Advertising helps fund Life360 and keep core safety features — like real-time location sharing and crash detection — available to families for free.
As a family safety platform, we apply defined guardrails to how advertising works, including limits on how data is used and shared.

How Advertising Works at Life360
You may see ads in the Life360 app. In some cases, ads may also appear on other apps or websites.
These ads may be personalized based on your experience with Life360, depending on your settings.
Advertising in the Life360 app
In the Life360 app, ads may be tailored to be more relevant and useful. For example, if you frequently visit pet stores, you may see offers for pet supplies rather than unrelated ads.
Your data may also be used to measure campaign effectiveness, such as whether someone visited a store after seeing an ad.
Personalized Ads within Life360 are enabled by default. You can turn this off at any time in your Privacy Choices.
If you turn this setting off:
We will stop using your data to personalize ads within the Life360 app
You may still see ads, but they will not be tailored using your behavioral data
On other apps and websites
In select countries Personalized Ads Outside of Life360 is a distinct setting that is turned off by default.
If you choose to turn this setting on, ads may appear on other apps or websites based on your Life360 experience.
What data may be used
If Personalized Ads are on (within Life360 and/or outside of Life360), we may use information such as:
Location patterns
App activity
Basic profile information
Your device’s Mobile Advertising ID (MAID)
A Mobile Advertising ID (MAID) is a device identifier that helps deliver more relevant ads without sharing your name or email address. This type of identifier is commonly used across mobile apps and the broader digital advertising ecosystem.

What Life360 Does Not Do With Your Data for Advertising
For targeted advertising, we do not:
Target ads to members who we know to be under 18
Use data from sensitive locations such as medical clinics, K–12 schools, military facilities, or places of worship.
Provide advertisers with access to your real-time location or real-time location history.
Share individual driving data with insurance companies for the purpose of influencing insurance rates without explicit opt-in consent given by you to the insurance company.
Your Control
You can manage your preferences at any time in the app.
To manage your preferences:
Open Settings
Tap Privacy & Security
Select Your Privacy Choices
From there, you can control
Personalized Ads within Life360
Personalized Ads outside of Life360
If you turn off Personalized Ads outside of Life360, your data will not be used to personalize ads on other apps or websites. If you turn off Personalized Ads within Life360, your behavioral data will not be used to personalize ads in the Life360 app. In both cases, you may still see ads in the Life360 app, but they will not be personalized using your behavioral data.
