A:Life360 is a free smartphone app that keeps your family safe and in sync. With Life360, you can do things like see where your family members are located, get help in an emergency, or group chat with your family. Life360 was started in 2008 and has 15 million members.
A:Yes, our core service is (and always will be) 100% free of charge. However, we do have some premium features that cost money. For example, it costs $4.99 a month to locate a family member who only has a feature phone (one that can’t run our app).
A:We work best on iPhone and Android devices, although you can access some of our features with our Blackberry app (still in beta) or over SMS using a phone that can’t run our app.
You can also use our app on iPods, iPads and some other tablet devices, but your location will only update when you are connected to the Internet.
To locate someone who owns a phone that can’t run our app, you will need to use our premium service, which costs $4.99 per month.

A:No, for someone to find your location using Life360, you will need to give us your explicit permission by installing our app and logging into an account. If you have a non-smartphone, we ask you to reply YES to the text message invitation to give permission to join an account.
As soon as you logout of Life360, no one will be able to locate you. Similarly, if you reply NO to the text message invitation on your non-smartphone, you cannot be located.
A:No. Anyone in your family can uninstall the app at any time. We believe our app is at its best when we are used as an opt-in communication and safety tool, not as a “big brother.”
A:The first thing you should do is make sure your family member has all location services turned “ON” on their phone, including GPS and WiFi.
Please note that accuracy depends on many factors, such as your environment and your phone. At times, a highly accurate location won’t be available.
A:Life360 has the lowest battery drain of all locator apps on the market. We have an advanced algorithm that takes advantage of ambient location to help us decide when to wake up your phone and update your coordinates–so we never just leave your GPS always-on.
But, every app that uses location will use some extra battery. Most users should expect about 10% shorter battery life when running the Life360 app.
