If you are like a lot of people, losing your car keys happens more often than you might like. They might have slipped into the couch cushions, fallen between the counter and the fridge, or your dog might’ve buried them. Other times, you leave them on a counter and they are gone forever. Fortunately, there are things you can do, such as getting a car key finder device to help locate them.

What to Do If You Lose Your Car Keys

If you find yourself unable to locate your car keys, take the time to look through some of the common areas around the house or your office where you might’ve left the keys. This could include the countertop, drawers, the lock of your door, under the couch, on your bed, the bathroom, etc. 

If you have a Tile or similar device for your keys, you can use the app to see whether you can find them. In the vast majority of cases, you can turn on the app and track down those keys in a matter of minutes. However, it doesn’t always pan out that way.

If for some reason, the key locator device is not working properly, you might still be able to find the keys using the old-school method of just searching for them, as mentioned above.
