Life360 Creates Import Tool for Google Latitude Users

Leading location and communication app for families offers Google Latitude users three months free of Life360 Premium

San Francisco, Calif. – July 24, 2013Life360, the leading location and communication app for families, today announced it has created a tool for Google Latitude users to import their location history into newly created Life360 accounts. The import tool, which can be accessed at www.life360.com/latitude, enables Google Latitude users who do not already have a Life360 account to create one and import up to 1,000 history points from their Google Latitude account.

“Since Google announced Latitude’s demise, we have seen a huge influx of Latitude refugees into Life360,” said Chris Hulls, co-founder and CEO of Life360. “Our tool makes it easier for Latitude users to make the switch, and they get to keep some of their location history in the process. We’re confident that these users will love Life360’s location-sharing and communication abilities.”

Life360’s import tool can be accessed at www.life360.com/latitude via a mobile device or computer. When a new Life360 account is created through this link, Life360 will flag the user as coming from Google Latitude and the user’s most recent 1,000 history points from Latitude will be imported to the new Life360 account.

New users will be able to import their own history data, not the history of their contacts. The import tool can be used for new Life360 users only. Google Latitude history cannot be merged with existing Life360 accounts.

Life360 will provide three months of select Life360 Premium services at no charge for any new user who imports history data from Google Latitude before August 8, 2013. Premium services provided during the three month period include access to a 24/7 Live Advisor, roadside assistance, expanded location history, unlimited use of Life360 Places, and location lookups for non-smartphones.

Founded in 2008, Life360, which recently surpassed 42 million users, is a free app for iOS and Android that uses location-based technology to help its users stay connected throughout the day via a private map and chat stream, regular check-ins, and “panic alerts” when needed. Earlier this year, Life360 added “Places,” a popular geo-fencing feature that allows users to designate their favorite locations and receive automatic alerts when family members arrive. Also this year, Life360 launched a Premium product, which users can sign up for at $4.99 per month or $50 per year. Life360 Premium provides access to a 24/7 Live Advisor, roadside assistance, unlimited use of Places, expanded location history, $100 in stolen phone protection, and location lookups for non-smartphones.
