Life360 Introduces Driving Safety Features, Delivering Peace of Mind When Families are on the Road
SAN FRANCISCO, May 25, 2016 Life360, the leading Family Network downloaded by more than 55 million families to stay connected with loved ones throughout the day, announced today the addition of driving safety features within its app. Life360 Driver Protect, a new subscription offering including comprehensive driving safety services, is a significant addition to the Life360 product and offers a unique solution to consumers as the only driving safety service that travels with all members of your family, on their smartphones, regardless of what vehicle they are in or who is driving.
This summer, the company will introduce Life360 Driver Protect, a new subscription service which – in addition to unlimited Place alerts using Life360’s geofencing technology and 30 days of location history – includes the following services:
- Automatic Crash Detection & Emergency Response: When family members are on the road – whether as a driver or passenger in a car, bus or other vehicle – Life360 can automatically detect when they are involved in a serious crash. Life360 will contact emergency responders and provide the accident location coordinates while staying on the phone until help arrives.
- 24/7 Live Driver Care: Life360’s trained advisors are available 24/7 to help any driver in the family Circle with driving needs, from locating nearby repair shops or hospitals to contacting family members.
- Roadside Assistance: Any member of the family Circle can request roadside assistance for towing, flat tires, lost keys, extra gas or other needs.
Nearly 1.3 million people die and an additional 20-50 million people are injured or disabled in road crashes each year, according to the Association for Safe International Road Travel. After a crash, every minute matters, and Life360 creates an immediate, direct connection between your loved one and a trained responder who will use Life360’s proprietary location technology to help direct emergency responders to the crash scene.
“Our new driving safety services support our commitment to provide peace of mind for families with technology that can help save lives,” said Alex Haro, co-founder and President of Life360. “Our users are already running Life360 while driving more than 3.2 billion miles every month, and families use our geolocation technology to send more than 1.5 billion locations every day. Life360 Driver Protect adds a layer of protection for every member of the family by automatically providing assistance when it’s needed most. We’re proud to make our new safety features easily accessible and affordable to anyone with an iPhone or Android device.”
The driving safety features are powered by Zendrive. “Zendrive’s mission is to make roads safer, and the ability to detect collisions in real-time puts people at ease knowing their families and loved ones are safe,” said Zendrive CEO Jonathan Matus.
Existing industry solutions for comprehensive driver safety services require hardware to be installed in the car. Life360’s app-based solution travels with every member of the family, in any vehicle, and extends comprehensive driver safety services to every member of the family Circle in a single subscription at half the price of existing services.
Life360 Driver Protect services will soon be available in the U.S. for iPhone and Android users with introductory pricing of $7.99/month or $69.99/year. To learn more about Life360 Driver Protect, please visit https://www.life360.com/driver-protect/.
