Life360’s Mobile App Tops 5 Million Families, Demonstrating How Smartphones Have Become A Modern Mom’s Must-Have
Family safety app is now larger than all carriers’ family locator services combined

The impressive growth rate is due in part to the growing use of smartphones, especially among moms, and families. According to Insight Express’ Digital Consumer Portrait study, 81 percent of moms own a mobile phone, and 45 percent own a smartphone. In addition, a survey by Mom Central Consulting found that 51 percent of moms have downloaded 16 or more apps.
Life360 recently surveyed over 500 of its own users and discovered that among today’s modern parents:
- 56 percent gave their children smartphones for safety purposes
- 44 percent check-in with their families one to five times a day
- 50 percent said they will buy a new smartphone in the next 18 months
- 57 percent said everyone in their family over the age of 13 would probably have a smartphone in the next 18 months
- More than half said that, in five years, they would rely on their smartphones at least double the rate at which they already do today
