Our users at Life360 often share stories of how they’re using the app – whether it’s about how they are staying connected with their families or have peace of mind from monitoring new teenage drivers. The stories of gratitude we receive on a daily basis keeps us working hard to constantly improve our app. We recently connected with one of our users, Jessup, who offered to share his own powerful story about how Life360 helped save his mother after she was kidnapped.

On a seemingly normal Saturday afternoon in January, Jessup’s mother, Karen, was leaving her home to visit family nearby. This was a drive she had taken many times and her family knew the commute shouldn’t take more than 30 minutes. When she didn’t arrive at her destination within the half hour, her family became worried.

I use Life360 because it lets me know when my family has left or gotten to school. It’s important I know when my sisters and mom get home safely.

After ample time had passed without hearing from Karen, Jessup’s stepfather called her to check-in. When she picked up, she was speaking in code and he could hear a strange, aggressive man in the background. Jessup immediately pulled up Life360 to see her location, only to see she was driving far away from her routine commute. Unbeknownst to Jessups’ family, a man had snuck into Karen’s unlocked SUV and hid in the backseat. When she began to drive, he held her at gunpoint and demanded she drive across state lines.

Suddenly, Karen’s kidnapper threw her phone out of the moving car window, activating Life360’s crash detection. Jessup was able to call 911 and explain the situation, alerting the police to look for an accident. From this, authorities were able to utilize the app to track Karen’s location and route.

The kidnapper disappeared after being dropped off across state lines and did not harm Karen. Thankfully, she was able to find local authorities to explain the situation. Jessup says she is recovering safely at home and has shared her Life360 story to over 3000 people via Facebook.

Download Life360. It helped us prove that my mom was in danger and helped us to track her location. It was really important for the investigation and the local police.

Fortunately, police were able to locate and apprehend the suspect just a few weeks after the incident. Jessup continues to share his mother’s story while crediting her safe-return home to Life360. The family had downloaded the app one month ago to keep his mother and three sisters connected on a daily basis.

Jessup’s story is just one example of the incredible ways Life360 has impacted our users. Thank you to Jessup and his entire family for letting us share your story. We’re so thankful we could be there for you.

How Life360 helped track Jessup’s mother amidst a kidnapping

Nothing is more stressful than trying to find your kid's favorite toy just mere moments before a meltdown. Thankfully, Tile can help with that.

The Benefits of Using a Toy Finder

If you're a busy parent, the last thing you want to hear is your kid yelling, Help, I can't find my toy! Since kids carry their toys everywhere, treasured animals, cars, balls, and more can easily go missing. As every parent knows, nothing sets a child off more than realizing the toy they want has disappeared. Tired of meltdowns when your child loses their favorite toy? Adding a Tile to the toy makes it easy to find a toy even if your kid has left it behind a couch or under a car seat.

How Tile Helps Track Your Toy

When it's already a half-hour past bedtime and your toddler refuses to sleep without a favorite stuffed bear, Tile helps you find the treasured toy. Instead of frantically rummaging through the laundry hamper while your child cries, all you need to do is ring your Tile.

How does this work? You start by picking out a Tile tracker that works with your child's toy. Some parents like the Tile Mate, which easily loops onto collars, handles, or tags. Others use the Tile Sticker, which you can stick directly onto the bottom of a car or the side of a game. Once you have the Tile installed on the toy, download the Life360 app onto your smartphone.

Whenever the toy goes missing after that, you just need to grab your phone. Select the Tile linked to the toy and tap Find. This instantly makes the Tile ring, so you can track down the toy. With the loud ringer, you can find a toy even if it's been stuffed under a mattress or put inside a kitchen cabinet.

It's also possible to use Tile to find a toy that was left at the park or dropped out a car window. Whenever your child's toy was lost outside the range of the toy finder, tap the Notify When Found option on the app. This lets other Tile devices scan for your toy anonymously. When the toy comes into contact with another Tile, it's new location will update in the toy finder app. Then, you can visit the spot, find the toy, and arrange a happy reunion between your child and their beloved toy.

Tips on Finding Your Toy From Tile Customers

Worried about your kid removing the Tile tracker? B. has a great hack. She recommends doing a little stuffed animal surgery to hide the Tile inside the toy. All you need to do is snip open a seam, insert the Tile, and then use a needle to sew it back up. This 10-minute craft ensures the stuffed animal will always have the Tile.

Most of our customers use the Tile for stuffed animals, but remember to think outside the box. One customer reports slipping a Tile Slim inside her son's Pokémon card binder. Though it's not a traditional toy, the card binder was constantly getting lost and causing headaches for everyone in the family. Thanks to Tile, they no longer had to worry about lost Pokémon cards making the kids late for school all the time.

When the toy goes missing, consider trying Ashley A.'s fun little trick. She's turned the whole thing into a game for her child. After letting them pick out their favorite ring tone, Ashley lets them play track my toy. Getting to track down the cheerful sound of the Tile turns a lost toy into a fun adventure.

When you're ready to simplify your life and keep your kids calm, turn to Tile. We've got several excellent toy trackers to pick from, so it's easy to find the right one for your child's favorite toy. Say Goodbye to Temper Tantrums Thanks to Tile's Toy Finder!

Whether it was a splurge or it's sentimental, finding your lost jacket can cause a lot of stress. This easy-to-use finder works with an app to track it down.

Why Try a Jacket Finder?

Picture this: Temperatures have dropped suddenly overnight, and you're in a hurry to leave the house. Unfortunately, you can't find your favorite cozy jacket. How do you handle this frustrating problem? If you have a Tile tracker on your jacket, the solution is as simple as tapping Find on your phone. By planning ahead and installing a Tile jacket finder, you never have to stress or worry over a lost jacket again.

Don't Let a Lost Jacket Get You Down

The average person loses around 192 pieces of clothing during their lifetime. When the lost clothing article is a jacket, it can be extremely upsetting. We tend to invest a lot of time and money into picking out jackets since they are a winter must-have. Whether your jacket is a sentimental hoodie or a prized designer coat, it is almost always a favorite piece of clothing. Unfortunately, the fact that we take our jackets everywhere also means they're easy to lose.

Even when you're at home, a jacket can end up tossed behind the washing machine or bundled up in a piece of luggage. And when you wear your jacket outside the house, it's very easy to take it off and leave it behind at the office or at a friend's house. If your jacket ends up with a bunch of others in a coat check or on a coat rack, someone can end up accidentally grabbing yours instead of theirs. In some cases, a thief might even purposefully take your jacket!

As you can see, there are all sorts of opportunities to lose a jacket while you're going about your day. When your jacket goes missing, you don't have to spend ages hunting for it or resign yourself to shivering. Installing a jacket finder helps you find your jacket no matter where it is so you can get back to staying warm and cozy.

How Tile Works to Help You Find Your Jacket

The Tile jacket finder is a Bluetooth tracker that is always running. All you have to do is pick out your Tile and find a place to store it. A lot of our users like to slide a Tile Slim into an inside pocket of their jacket while some loop the Tile Pro around a zipper tab. Then, sync the Tile to the Life360 app, which is available for Androids and iPhones. With Tile batteries that last one to three years, you can just put the tracker in your jacket and forget about it.

When your jacket goes missing, open the Life360 app and tap the find my jacket option. If your jacket is within a few hundred feet of your phone, you'll hear the Tile ring. Then, you can follow the sound to find your jacket under a couch cushion or in your laundry basket. When your Tile's outside of Bluetooth range, you can check its last known location to see if you forgot it somewhere like a restaurant or a park bench.

If your jacket's not where you left it, all you need to do is mark your jacket as lost in the app. This tells everyone's Tile devices to scan for your jacket, and when one comes in contact with your jacket, your phone will notify you of the updated location. You can travel right to the spot, ring your Tile, and hunt down your lost jacket. And don't worry about someone else making off with your beloved jacket before you can get there. The Tile Network is entirely anonymous, so no one but you gets this data.

Whether you lose your jacket once in a blue moon or constantly leave it in the most random spots, Tile's Bluetooth tracking is a reliable and simple way of finding your jacket. Once you have it installed, running late because you couldn't find your jacket will be a thing of the past. Our jacket finders provide peace of mind and help protect your important belongings.

Don't wait to try Tile until you lose one of your favorite jackets. By getting a jacket finder now, you can avoid the frustration of a lost jacket.
Use Tile Sticker or Tile Pro as a tool tracker on whatever you use most. Find your power drill, tape measure, and everything else in your toolbox.

Why You Need A Tool Tracking System

It happens to everyone: You set down whatever tool you're working with, like your power drill or tape measure, and then after just a few minutes you can't remember where you left it. If you're lucky, you might able to track it down quickly and get back to the job at hand. If not, you might spend 20 or 30 minutes searching for the tool so you can complete the job and go home for the day.

Misplacing a tool isn't just frustrating—it can also be dangerous if a child or an untrained person finds the tool before you do. And if you lost your tool for good, you might have to spend hundreds or even thousands of dollars to replace it! Wouldn't it be easier if you could track your tools with a few quick taps on your smartphone?

How Tile's Tool Tracker Works

To keep track of your tools, you can attach a Tile to every tool in your shop or add one into your tool bag. The Tile Sticker is an excellent option for a tool tracker thanks to its small size and adhesive backing, giving it the ability to adhere to things right out of the box. Tile Pro is another great, durable option that instead has a keyhole for attaching to things, rather than a sticky back.

Once you've attached your Tile to your tool or tool bag, download the free Life360 app on your smartphone and follow the simple instructions to set it up. Now, you can rest assured that some of the most valuable equipment in your home, office, and/or workshop can always be found.

When you misplace a tool around the house or in your workshop, you can use the Life360 app to make your the Tile on your tool ring loudly. Simply pull up the app and tap the Find button. The Tile will ring so you can track it down and get back to work. If you can't make the Tile ring because your lost tool is too far away, You can also look at the map to see the location where your Tile was last in range of your smartphone. If you still can't find it, simply tap the Notify When Found button in the app to alert the Tile Network.

What Else? Can I Track Stolen Tools?

When you download the Life360 app you automatically gain access to all the core features in the app, like the ability to find your Tile by making it ring, viewing your Tile on a map, and access to the help of the Life360 Network.

What Is the Tile Network?

The Tile Network is our massive lost and found network, powered by Life360 app users and access points, that can anonymously find a lost or misplaced Tile when it’s outside of Bluetooth range. Anyone who downloads and runs the Life360 app is part of this network. When someone who's running the Life360 app passes within range of a lost Tile, an anonymous notification is automatically sent to the owner of that Tile, allowing them to find its location. The Tile Network is 100% private and anonymous—none of your information is revealed, not even your full name.

Which Tile Is Best for Tools?

While the Tile Sticker is generally the best option for tools as you can stick it directly onto the tool and won't have to replace the batteries for the next three years, the Tile Pro is the most durable Tile. This is often ideal for people who work with heavy power tools. However, you'll have to use a key ring or a separate adhesive to attach it to your tool.

The Tile is similar to the Pro; it's small, versatile and easy to use. You can also use the Tile Slim if you need a sleek, narrow tracking device.

They might look different, but every Tile operates the same way: Simply download the Life360 app and follow the installation instructions. It's important to note, though, that each Tile has a different range. You can stay on top of your daily chores, complete tasks efficiently and have some time for yourself at the end of the day! It might sound overwhelming at first, but getting organized is a simple task that requires only a few tools. Check out the following tips for getting organized.

How Tile Helps You Stay Organized

Are you the type of person who loses stuff easily? You can spend 10 minutes searching for your smartphone or car keys before realizing that they were sitting on your kitchen counter the whole time. Losing your belongings isn't just frustrating—it can seriously interfere with your life and make it difficult to get anything done.

Fortunately, Tile can help you simplify your life by keeping track of your belongings and finding lost items with ease. The process is simple: Buy a Tile and attach it to your device or thing you don't want to lose. Then, install the Life360 app on your smartphone and sync the Tile to your app. If you lose the item in a place that's somewhere nearby, you can pull up the app to locate the item in moments by making the Tile ring. If it's lost further away, you can use the map in your app to see where your item was last seen by Tile and get walking or driving directions back to it.

If your item is lost and not where you last had it, you can also get secure and anonymous help from the Tile Network. When other Tile users come within Bluetooth range of your lost item, their Life360 app will automatically and anonymously send you the updated location of your Tiled item.

Wondering which Tile is right for you? Tile makes it easy to keep track of your belongings so you can make that appointment or get to work on time.

Organization Tips From Experts

Many people haven't used a planner since they were in elementary school. It might feel a little silly at first, but investing in a planner is a great way to stay organized. You can even make it fun by purchasing cute stickers, tabs and dividers for your planner. A planner gives you the perfect space to write down assignments, keep track of appointments, make to-do lists, jot down reminders for yourself and look at your entire week at a glance. You'll also be able to look back on your year if you need to check an old appointment or assignment. Digital planners are also a great option for anyone looking for a quicker way to organize, although typing isn't as effective as writing is for memorization.

If you have trouble completing your tasks, try making a to-do list with the shortest and easiest tasks on the top. As you complete the first chores on your list, you can slowly move on to the more challenging tasks. You'll get a sense of accomplishment when you look back and see how much you crossed off in a single day.

To make the more challenging tasks easier, try breaking them down into simple steps that can be accomplished quickly. For example, if you have to make a presentation for your office, write down all the steps you need to take to prepare. This could include researching the topic, making PowerPoint slides and practicing your presentation.
As we celebrate Black History Month, we’re excited to share the voices of moms who are shining a light on the path. From raising mindful kids, to the link between motherhood and entrepreneurship, to juggling safety and independence in a modern world.

Anastasia Stancil is a mother to three kids, a wife, a nurse, and an entrepreneur. She’s on a journey to inspire women to work for what they want. Learn more about her work at @undeniableannie on instagram, and @anastasia.stancil on Facebook.

By day, I’m a mom of 3 juggling virtual schooling, DIY projects on our newly built home to customize it into what we want; one room at a time. You can find me shuttling everyone around to appointments and overall trying to maintain a sense of normalcy through the chaos happening in the world all around us.

At night I change out of my paint stained clothing, hop into bed by 7pm only to wake up from an alarm sounding at 1030pm telling me that it’s time to get ready for work. As a night shift nurse, I’m knee deep in the pandemic drama and my number one priority is making sure that my family is safe throughout this whole ordeal.

My husband and I ultimately chose to maintain social distancing from day one, knowing that the likelihood of me coming in contact with people positive with the virus would be high. We have had little to no contact with family and friends in almost a year. We teach our children the importance of following this approach because I have seen first hand what happens when people have let down their guard. We mask up when we venture out, wash our hands frequently and keep a safe distance. Our kids know that this isn’t a scare tactic or meant to cause fear. We choose safety as a priority.

I enjoy being a nurse, but my passion and creative outlet is letting people peek into our everyday lives. We love creating beautiful spaces in our home. Taking blank canvases and turning them into picturesque areas that we get to enjoy daily. I show real life everyday moments as an exhausted mom who gets little sleep, take part in self-care Sundays with my community and even chat about finances and how my husband and I crawled out of debt as a couple.

My children are my priority, but being a mother and even a nurse doesn’t mean that I have to give up on what I feel most drawn to be doing. It’s all about balance. Some days feel engulfed in 2nd, 4th and 8th grade learning. I barely feel like I have a moment to myself and sometimes step out on the front porch to escape, if only to take a few breaths of fresh air. Other days I put my priorities, wants and goals to the forefront. I set aside time for projects, taking pictures, writing etc. It makes me feel whole again when I’m doing what I love. When I prioritize work and children over myself all the time, I become overwhelmed with everyday life. That’s when I know that I need to take time for me!

Don’t lose yourself in motherhood. Instead, find the person you were before kids. The girl who had big dreams and aspirations. Work on ways to bring out the best in her now! Make those goals a priority in your life.

As you know, the seasons are short. One day the kids will be gone, the house will be quiet and you will be left wondering why you waited so long to start living.

Protect your investment in a drone with Tile's drone tracker. Easily find it in a tree, tall grass, or anywhere else it may go missing.

A drone can be a very pricey piece of technology, especially when it is outfitted with the latest photographic equipment. If you want to make sure your investment doesn't end up lost in tall grass or tangled in shrubs, you need a Tile. The right Bluetooth drone tracker makes it easy to track down your drone if it goes missing out of sight.

How to Find a Lost Drone With Tile

Are you tired of searching through trees and combing through tall grass and bushes for your drone and the constant worry that it might get lost? Adding a Tile to your drone can save you a lot of hassle and stress later on, so you can focus on having fun. There are several reasons to choose a Tile even if your drone is equipped with GPS.

The Tile tracker works with Bluetooth, so it keeps working even when you're flying your drone in areas without cell service. All of our trackers are water-resistant, so even on rainy days or in marshy areas, the tracker will keep going. And thanks to our ultrasonically welded case, the tracker isn't even phased by rough landings.

Also, the tracker is equipped with its own long-lasting battery, so you can find your drone long after it's run out of charge.

To protect your equipment, start by choosing your Tile. Some drone users like how the Tile Sticker can stick onto any device with ease, while others appreciate the Tile Pro for its long range. After you've got your Tile, download the Life360 app, which is available for Android and iOS, and sync the tracker to your account.

Once you have the Tile activated, you can fly your drone normally. Since its battery lasts for a year or more, the Tile will keep working through countless drone flights. Any time your drone lands in an area with a lot of vegetation, you don't have to waste time hunting it down. Instead, you can use the Tile to locate the hidden drone. Just open the app, and tap the Find option for your drone tracker. This will automatically ring your Tile, so you can hear where the drone is even if you can't see it.

If your drone gets hit with a sudden crosswind and ends up far away from your phone, Tile can still help. When you can't seem to get into Bluetooth range of your drone, try marking it as lost. This notifies the Tile Network to start searching for your drone. The Tile Network uses all phones with the Life360 app to anonymously scan for the drone tracker. When your tracker comes into range, you get an alert showing you where the Tile's signal was picked up. Then, you can travel to the area and ring your Tile just like normal.

How Tile's Drone Tracker Works

As drones become more popular, we've heard from more and more customers who found a lost device with Tile's drone tracker. Chad L. reported that a solar flare knocked out the onboard GPS and Wi-Fi on his $1,000 drone. When the electronic disruption hit, his drone took off flying in a random direction. Chad ran off after it but lost sight of the speedy drone.

Chad decided to go ahead and report his Tile as lost in the Life360 app. To his surprise, the app instantly reported the Tile as found! It turned out the drone had crashed right in the range of a fellow Tile Network member. He was able to knock on the woman's door, get permission to check her property, and find his drone quickly.

Brendan W. has a similar story about finding a lost drone with Tile. When he was testing out his brand-new $800 drone, a sudden change in elevation caused him to lose connection. The sun was setting, and he knew his drone had probably run out of battery and grounded itself.

Brendan pulled up the Life360 app and walked around until he was in range. Then, he tapped the Find button to ring his Tile. The loud ringer guided him through the pitch-black forest and down into a gulley where he was able to recover his drone!

As you can see, adding a Tile to a drone ensures that your valuable equipment does not go missing for good. A drone tracker makes it easy to find your drone in cities, forests, mountain ranges, and more! Your Guide to Becoming More Organized at Work and Home

Create a Temporary Circle in Life360 to share real-time location with a group for a set time. Everyone sees everyone, and sharing stops automatically when it ends.

Two families. Nine people arriving from four different cities. Three of them on a different flight. One dad who insists he knows a shortcut and is now, somehow, forty minutes behind everyone else.

Nobody has anybody else on Life360. But nobody wants to add nine people to their permanent Circle for a long weekend. What you need is a Circle that exists for the trip — and dissolves when it's over.

Temporary Circles is Life360's group location sharing feature with a built-in expiry.

Everyone you invite joins a shared Circle, sharing their real-time location with the whole group and seeing everyone else's — all inside the Life360 app. When your set duration runs out, location sharing stops automatically. No cleanup. No awkward removals. It just ends.

Temporary Circles is live now in the Life360 app.

Try it today.

Why group coordination is a different problem

There's a reason the group chat turns into chaos the second people split up at an event or arrive from different directions. The tools most people reach for — texting, WhatsApp, even temporary location sharing — are one-directional. One person updates the group on where they are. That's fine for two people. For a group of eight at a music festival, it breaks down immediately.

The problem isn't that nobody's sharing. It's that everyone needs to see everyone.

Temporary Circles solves exactly that. One person creates the Circle, everyone joins, and the shared map is live for the whole group — no one person playing dispatcher, no I can see you but you can't see me confusion, no thread of 40 location screenshots.

Quick rule:

Need the whole group on the same map? Try Temporary Circles. Just need to send someone your location? Start temporary location sharing.

Here's how it works

Invite your group. Everyone joins right in the app.

That's it. From that point, every member of the Circle can see every other member's real-time location on a shared map. Live, updated, accurate — the whole group in one view.

While the Circle is active

Every member's pin shows on the shared map. Someone went to get food and hasn't come back? You can see exactly where they are. The group split across two entrances? Everyone navigates to each other without a single text. The drive home turned into four different routes? The whole group tracks in real time until everyone's safe.

When time's up

The Circle closes. Every member sees a notification that the session has ended. Location access stops for the entire group — no residual visibility, no one lingering in a Circle that's run its course. Or end it early yourself, anytime, from the app.

Group location sharing for concerts and festivals

Your group is going to split up. It always does. Someone finds the merch booth, someone needs water, someone claims they're right by the stage — which stage being the open question.

Create a Temporary Circle before you arrive. Set it for the duration of the event. From that point, everyone in your group has a live view of where everyone else is — no I'm by the blue tent messages, no designated meeting spot you'll never find, no one waiting alone at the wrong entrance for 20 minutes.

When the night ends and everyone scatters to their cars or their Ubers, the Circle is still live until you close it. When the last person is home safe, close it out. Done.

Temporary location sharing for family vacations and extended family

You probably wouldn't add the cousins to your permanent Life360 family Circle. But a family reunion weekend where everyone's driving in from different states and nobody knows the neighborhood? That calls for a shared map.

Temporary Circles give extended family, visiting relatives, or a second family joining your trip real-time mutual visibility for exactly as long as the visit lasts. No one has to be added to anyone's permanent Circle. No awkward should I remove them now? conversation once it's over. The Circle runs for the weekend, or the week, and then it's gone.

Location sharing for weekend trips, sports games, and group meetups

The two-family road trip where three kids are in each car and nobody can agree on a lunch stop. The sports tournament weekend across four different fields. The work offsite where everyone's commuting from different hotels. The group dinner where half the people are still on the train.

Set a Temporary Circle for the duration of the plan — one day or one week — and the whole group stays connected without a single where are you? text. When the plan is over, the Circle expires and everyone goes back to their normal Life360 setup.

The group social contract, solved

Adding someone to your permanent Life360 Circle says something. It's a commitment. And removing them — even when the moment has obviously passed — can feel loaded.

Temporary Circles is built around a different social contract entirely. Everyone who joins knows exactly how long the Circle runs. There's no why did you remove me? because there's no removal. The Circle ends when it said it would. That's it.

It means you can actually invite the people you need for the moment — the colleague on the work trip, the visiting in-laws, the friends doing the festival — without any of it becoming a permanent thing. Trust for the moment. Nothing more.

Is a Temporary Circle right for you?

FAQ: Temporary Circles on Life360

What is Temporary Circles on Life360?
Temporary Circles is Life360's group location sharing feature with a built-in expiry. Tile just launched four new earth tone colors—Seaglass, Clay, Slate, and Blush—designed to blend into your everyday life as naturally as they track your stuff. Inspired by the natural world, the new shades are calm, considered, and available now in Tile and Tile Slim through the Life360 app.

Let's just say it: most tech accessories look like they belong in a junk drawer.

Not anymore.

Tile just launched four new earth tone colors—Seaglass, Clay, Slate, and Blush—and they're the kind of shades you actually want clipped to your keychain, slipped into your wallet, or tucked in your bag. Down-to-earth colors that are, fittingly, down to track it all.

Same unmatched finding power. A whole new palette.

What Are Tile's New Earth Tone Colors?

The new Tile color collection draws its inspiration from the natural world—oceans, mountainsides, sun-baked earth, stone. Each shade is grounded and familiar, the kind of color that feels intentional rather than incidental. No neons. No plastics. No trying too hard. Just four shades that go with your stuff.

Here's what's new:

Seaglass is a muted teal — think sea glass you'd pick up on the beach, not the electric teal of a 2015 phone case. Soft, a little cool, and way more interesting than black on a keychain.

Clay is warm and earthy — the kind of color that looks like it belongs on a shelf at an expensive ceramics studio. It also happens to look great tucked into a bag or clipped to your keys. Your wallet has never looked this good. (And now it'll never go missing, either.)

Slate is a cool, understated gray rooted in stone. If you've been waiting for a tracker that doesn't scream tech accessory, this is it.

Blush introduces a subtle pink that reads mineral rather than candy-coated. It’s refined — not overly polished. She's beauty, she's grace, she knows where your wallet is.

All four colors are available in Tile and Tile Slim. Mix, match, and track everything you love.

Why Does Tile Color Actually Matter?

Because you carry your Tile everywhere. It's on your keychain, in your bag, clipped to your luggage. It goes with you to the grocery store, the gym, the airport, your in-laws' house. The things you carry say something about you—and your tracker should, too.

This collection was built on a simple idea: peace of mind shouldn't have to look ugly.

The shift toward softer, more muted tones isn't just happening at Tile. It's a broader move in design and fashion toward palettes that feel calm and cohesive—colors you choose to carry, not just something you need. Tile's new earth tones fit seamlessly into everyday objects and environments because that's exactly how they were designed.

Premium. Intentional. Timeless. And yes, still completely capable of finding your keys from across the house.

What Can You Track With the New Tile Colors?

Everything. That's kind of the point.

Track your keys (obviously). Your bag. Your wallet. Your luggage. Your backpack. The TV remote. That pricey camera you take everywhere. Your bike. Tile's Bluetooth range goes up to 350 feet, and the ring is loud enough to hear from the next room. Picking a color? That's the hard part.

And because Tile lives inside the Life360 app, you're tracking your stuff right alongside your people and pets—all in one place. One app. Zero wondering. Full peace of mind.

The Tile + Life360 Combination: Everything, Tracked

Here's what makes the new Tile colors even better: they work with Life360, the family connection app that keeps your people, pets, and most important things close.

From the Life360 app, you can:

Find your things — Play a sound on your Tile, or track it down on the map

Find your phone — Use Tile to make your phone ring even when it's on silent

Send an SOS — Use the SOS button to discreetly send an alert to your Circle

So while your new Clay or Seaglass Tile is turning heads, it's also quietly doing the most important job it's ever had.

How to Choose Your New Tile Color

Genuinely can't pick? Here's how to think about it.

Seaglass is for anyone who gravitates toward cooler tones — the kind of person who has a linen everything and probably owns at least one piece of sea glass already. It's calm-looking without being boring.

Clay is warm and earthy. If your vibe runs more natural materials and neutral tones than bright pops of color, Clay is going to feel like it was made for you. Also just looks really good against leather.

Slate is the easy answer if you're genuinely undecided. Gray sounds boring until you see it — it's more of a cool stone tone in person, and it goes with literally everything without looking like you just grabbed whatever was closest.

Blush tends to surprise people. It's pink, but it's not pink pink — more like a dusty rose that happens to be attached to a Bluetooth tracker. If you've been waiting for tech that doesn't look like tech, this is the one.

And if you still can't pick, get two. Your keys and your wallet don't need to match.

Get the New Shades. Keep Track of Everything.

Four new colors. The same hard-working tracking. And the peace of mind that comes from knowing your stuff is exactly where it should be.

Earth tones aren't going away. Neither is your peace of mind.

Shop the new Tile shades →

Tile just dropped four earth tone colors—Seaglass, Clay, Slate, and Blush. Same hard-working Bluetooth tracking, now in shades worth showing off. Shop the new Tile colors.

Tile's New Earth Tone Colors Are Here And They Track as Hard as They Trend

New Earth Tone Colors Are Here

Your keys went missing. Again. If you're weighing whether the Tile Pro is worth it — or how it stacks up against the AirTag and Tile Mate — this review breaks it all down. Range, battery, durability, cost, and which phone it actually works best with. Plus: there's an SOS feature most people don't know about. Here's everything you need to decide if the Tile Pro is the right tracker for you (and your whole family's map).

Summary

What this article covers:

A full breakdown of the Tile Pro: what it does well, where it has limits, how it stacks up against the Tile and Apple AirTag, and what is actually the right pick in 2026.

Who it’s for

Android users looking for a durable, long-range Bluetooth tracker

Mixed-household families using both iPhone and Android devices

Anyone deciding between the Tile Pro and a cheaper Tile option

Life360 members who want to get more out of their tracker setup

Key Takeaways

The Tile Pro is priced at $34.99 and is Tile's top-of-the-line Bluetooth tracker.

It has a 500-foot Bluetooth range.

The user-replaceable battery lasts about a year, unlike embedded-battery models.

IP68 rating means it's dustproof and water resistant up to 1.5 meters.

The AirTag has a precision edge for iPhone owners due to the Ultra-Wideband (UWB)

The SOS feature is available through the Life360 app, not the standard Tile app.

Best fit: Android users, mixed households, and anyone already in the Life360 ecosystem.

Tile has been in the Bluetooth trackers game for a while, and the Tile Pro sits at the top of their lineup. It's built for people who want more: more Bluetooth range, more durability, and a louder speaker compared to the standard Tile.

At $34.99, it's Tile's premium option, designed to help you locate lost items like your keys, bag, wallet, or whatever else tends to disappear at the worst possible moment. It works with both iPhone and Android devices, integrates with the Life360 app, and comes with a user-replaceable battery, so you're not tossing the whole thing after a year.

Is it worth the upgrade? That depends on who you are and what phone you're holding. Here's the full picture.

Specs and Design: Built to Last

The first thing you notice about the Tile Pro is that it feels solid. Where the Tile is plastic, the Pro has a metal frame. It's the kind of thing you can clip to your car keys and not worry about.

The rectangular shape makes it easy to tuck into a bag pocket or slip onto a keyring without feeling bulky. There's a built-in attachment point at the top, so no extra accessories are needed to get it on your keys right out of the box. Unlike some third-party trackers that require a separate holder or case, the Tile Pro is ready to go as-is.

Flip it over and you'll find a QR code labeled Scan Me If Found. If someone stumbles across your lost keys or bag, they can scan the QR code and get your contact info. It's a simple but genuinely helpful feature that doesn't require the finder to have any app installed. Most Bluetooth trackers don't include anything like this, and it's a nice touch for real-world recovery situations.

The Tile Pro is water-resistant and boasts an IP68 rating, meaning it can handle submersion up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes. The Apple AirTag and Samsung Galaxy SmartTag 2 are both IP67 certified. Same 30-minute window, slightly shallower depth. Not a huge practical difference day-to-day, but the Tile Pro edges them out on paper.

Set-up and the Tile App

Getting the Tile Pro running takes less than five minutes. Download the Tile app (available for both iOS and Android), create a free account, and pair your device. That's it.

You also have the option to use the Life360 app instead of, or alongside, the Tile app. This is where things get more interesting, because the Life360 app is where bonus features like the SOS feature and Smart Alerts live. More on those in a moment.

Once it's set up, the app displays Tile's location data on a map showing your tiled item's last known position. One important thing to understand: this is not real-time tracking. The Tile Pro is a Bluetooth tracker, not a GPS device. Location data updates when your Tile comes within range of another Tile or Life360 app user, so what pops up on the map is the most recent location it was detected, not necessarily where it sits right this second.

For most everyday use cases, like finding lost items or locating a missing bag, this is totally fine. Just good to know going in. If you need real-time tracking for a pet or a family member, that's where the Life360 app's GPS features come in.

It's also worth noting that older versions of the Tile app may have fewer features than the current release. Keeping the app updated ensures you're getting the full experience.

The Tile Network: How Lost Items Get Found Beyond Bluetooth Range

Here's where the Tile ecosystem really earns its keep.

When your Tile Pro is beyond your personal Bluetooth range, it relies on the Tile Network, a tracking network built on the collective reach of Tile users and Life360 members. Any nearby device running the Tile or Life360 app will anonymously detect your tracker's signal and relay its location back to you. Nobody gets notified that they helped. It happens quietly in the background.

Life360 reports over 70 million users, which means there's a large device network of phones passively helping locate lost Tiles every day. That's a real advantage over smaller or newer Bluetooth trackers that are still building their user base.

The honest caveat: the network works best where people are. Dense urban and suburban areas have more Tile users nearby, which means faster and more reliable location updates. If your item goes missing somewhere rural or low-traffic, the tracking network has fewer devices to work with, and your chances of a quick ping go down.

For comparison, Apple's Find My network runs on every iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Samsung's SmartThings Find network is similarly well-populated for Galaxy users. The Tile Network is competitive in populated areas but trails those two ecosystems in raw size.

Bluetooth Range: What 500 Feet Looks Like in Your House

Tile claims a 500-foot Bluetooth range for the Pro, which is impressive on paper. Real-world performance is a different story.

Walls, furniture, floors, and interference all chip away at that number. In practice, most Tile users find that effective Bluetooth range lands somewhere between 120 and 200 feet when obstacles are involved, which is typical of limited Bluetooth range behavior across trackers in this category. That's still plenty for most homes, offices, and vehicles, but it's worth calibrating expectations before you picture your Tile pinging from a block away.

What the Tile Pro does better than the Tile and most other trackers in close proximity situations is its chime volume. The tracker's chime is pretty loud, noticeably more so than the Tile, which makes a real difference when you're trying to locate something buried in couch cushions or tucked under furniture. You'll hear it. If you've ever stood just feet away from a Tile and struggled to hear it ring, the Pro's louder speaker is the fix.

One thing neither the Pro nor any Tile tracker offers: directional guidance. You're working off sound and signal strength rather than a getting warmer arrow. That means a bit of back-and-forth to zero in, which is worth knowing if you were expecting precision navigation.

Battery Life: The Replaceable Battery Is a Bigger Deal Than It Sounds

The Tile Pro uses a CR2032 coin cell battery, which is user-replaceable, with a manufacturer-estimated battery life of about one year. When it dies, you open the battery cover, pop in a new one, and keep going.

This might sound unremarkable until you compare it to the Tile Slim and standard Tile, both of which have embedded, non-replaceable batteries. When those die, the device is done. You buy a new one.

For the Tile Pro, a replacement CR2032 costs about a dollar. That's a meaningful long-term savings over repeatedly replacing entire Tile devices, and it's better for the environment too. If you hate throwing things away before their time, the replaceable battery alone might justify the upgrade from the Tile, especially if a dead battery has ever left you without a working tracker at the wrong moment.

One thing to watch: frequent chimes and heavy network pings can drain the battery a bit faster than the one-year estimate. If you're constantly ringing your Tile to find your car keys, factor that in. The longer battery life compared to embedded-battery Tile models is still a clear win overall.

Tile Premium and Subscriptions: What Costs Extra

The core Tile app experience is free. You can ring your Tile, see its last known location, and use the Notify When Found feature to get alerted when your lost item is detected by the Tile Network, all at no cost.

To unlock the full feature set, Tile offers two subscription tiers:

Tile Premium ($3/month or $30/year) adds 30-day location history, Smart Alerts that notify you when you leave somewhere without your tagged item, and item reimbursement if things go missing for good.

Tile Premium Protect ($99/year) bumps the reimbursement coverage up to $1,000 for lost or stolen items.

Smart Alerts in particular are worth calling out. The ability to get a notification before you've driven away without your wallet is one of those features that sounds small until the day it saves you a thirty-minute round trip.

If you're already a Life360 Silver, Gold, or Platinum member, some of these features overlap with what your plan includes, particularly location history and alerts. Check your Life360 plan before adding a separate Tile Premium subscription on top of it.

Android vs. iPhone: Does Your Phone Change the Math?

Short answer: yes, a little.

The Tile Pro works with both iOS and Android, which is genuinely useful for mixed households where not everyone is on the same platform. That cross-platform flexibility is one of its real selling points over trackers that are locked to a single ecosystem.

For iPhone owners: Apple AirTag is deeply integrated into the Find My ecosystem and benefits from Apple's Find My network running on hundreds of millions of Apple devices. It also uses Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technology for Precision Finding. Directional arrows and distance estimates right show up on your screen. For iPhone-only households, AirTag is a very strong choice.

For Android users: the Tile Pro is a much more compelling option. AirTag is built for iPhone. Samsung's SmartTag 2 is built for Galaxy users. The Tile Pro works across Android devices without locking you into any specific manufacturer's ecosystem. Pair it with Life360, and you get crowdsourced finding, location history, Smart Alerts, and the SOS feature that generic Android find alternatives can't match.

For mixed households: Tile Pro's platform design means everyone can use the same tracker, the same app, and see the same map.

The SOS Feature: A Bonus Most People Miss

Here's something the Tile Pro does that most people don't realize when they first buy it.

Triple-press the button on your Tile Pro, and it sends a discreet SOS alert to your selected contacts with your location. It's completely quiet. Your contacts get notified so they can check in or send help fast.

The ability to send SOS alerts lives in the Life360 app, not the standard Tile app. It also only works with 2024 and newer Tile models. But if you're already set up with Life360, the SOS feature turns a key tracker into a personal safety device, one that's already on your keychain every time you leave the house.

Privacy and Security

Tile handles privacy thoughtfully. Device identifiers rotate regularly, which limits the ability for someone to use a Tile to track another person without their knowledge. If an unknown Tile has been traveling with you, an alert will pop up on your phone, an anti-stalking measure that's become a standard expectation for Bluetooth trackers and one Tile takes seriously.

Compared to Apple's Find My, Tile's end-to-end encryption is less comprehensive. Apple's system is designed so that even Apple can't access your location data. If privacy is your top priority and you're on an iPhone, that's worth factoring in when keeping track of what's right for you.

For most everyday use cases like locating lost items and keeping tabs on your stuff, Tile's privacy protections are solid.

Tile Pro vs. AirTag vs. SmartTag 2 vs. Tile

Tile Pro vs. Apple AirTag ($29): AirTag wins on Find My network size, UWB precision, and price for iPhone owners. Tile Pro wins on Bluetooth range claim, IP68 vs. IP67 water resistant rating, user-replaceable battery, and Android compatibility. If you're on an iPhone and precision finding matters most: AirTag. If you're on Android or need cross-platform flexibility: Tile Pro.

Tile Pro vs. Samsung Galaxy SmartTag 2 ($29.99): SmartTag 2 has UWB and tight integration with Samsung phones. If you're a Galaxy user, it's the natural fit. For everyone else on Android, especially non-Samsung devices, Tile Pro plus Life360 is the stronger combination.

Tile Pro vs. Tile: Tile is smaller, cheaper, and handles basic finding well. Tile Pro has a louder speaker, a longer Bluetooth range claim, metal frame construction, an IP68 water-resistant rating, and a user-replaceable battery. The Tile Slim sits between them for wallet use, with a thin profile, longer battery life, but no replaceable battery. If you've ever been frustrated by the Tile's quiet chime or felt like it wasn't durable enough for daily carry, the Pro solves both of those problems. The Tile Slim is worth considering if a wallet is your primary use case and slim matters more than range.

Who Should Buy the Tile Pro?

Great fit:

Android users who want a well-built, durable tracker with a longer range

Mixed iPhone/Android households that need one tracker the whole family can use

Anyone already using Life360 who wants to add their everyday items to the same map as their family

People who want a user-replaceable battery and plan to keep their Tile devices for years

Anyone who wants the SOS feature as a quiet personal safety tool

Probably not the right fit:

iPhone-only households who want UWB precision → Apple AirTag is likely the better call

Dedicated Galaxy users who want deep Samsung ecosystem integration → SmartTag 2 is built for you

Budget-first buyers who just need basic finding → standard Tile handles that for less.

Final Verdict

The Tile Pro is a genuinely good Bluetooth tracker. The metal frame, louder speaker, user-replaceable battery, and water-resistant IP68 build make it a practical, durable everyday companion. The 500-foot Bluetooth range claim is optimistic in the real world, and the lack of UWB can be a gap for iPhone owners who want precision finding, but for Android users and mixed households, those limitations matter a lot less.

The bigger picture: if you're already using Life360 to keep track of your family, adding the Tile Pro means your car keys, wallet, and bag show up on the same map as your people. The Life360 app brings Tile's location data together with family location sharing, Smart Alerts, and the SOS feature, all in one place. No switching between tools when something goes missing. That kind of consolidation has real value, especially when you're already stressed about finding something. Shop the Tile Pro and explore Life360 membership plans today.

Tile Pro Review (2026)

Lost your phone? That sinking feeling is the worst — but it doesn't have to last long. This guide breaks down five methods that actually work: retracing your steps, using Tile to ring your phone even on silent, Apple's Find My, Google's Find My Device, and Life360 for the whole family. Plus, what your phone needs set up before it goes missing. Because the best time to be ready is before the panic sets in.

Summary

What this article covers:

A practical breakdown of how phone finder tools work, what your phone needs to be locatable, and five real methods to find a lost device, including how a Tile tracker can help you find your phone even when it's on silent.

Who it’s for

Anyone who has ever panicked over a missing phone

iPhone and Android users who want to know their options before disaster strikes

People who already own a Tile and want to know it can help them find their phone

Families who want one app that handles people, pets, and things

Key Takeaways

Your phone needs location services enabled to be trackable.

GPS, Wi-Fi, and cell towers all work together to pinpoint your device.

Five methods can help you find a lost phone: Retracing Steps, Tile, Find My (iPhone), Find My Device (Android), and Life360.

Tile isn't just for keys, you can use it to ring your phone even when it's silenced.

Life360 keeps your phone, your people, and your things visible in one place.

You put your phone down for one second. One second. And now it's just...gone. You've checked the couch. You've checked the counter. You've done the full pocket-pat three times. Nothing.

If your phone has a habit of disappearing into the furniture, or you're dealing with something more serious like a lost or stolen device, knowing how to track it down quickly makes all the difference. The good news: there are five solid methods that actually work, and one of them you might already have sitting on your keychain.

How Does a Phone Finder Actually Work?

Before we get into the methods, there are a few things your phone needs to be locatable in the first place.

First, have location services been turned on? Without them, most tracking tools are working blind. Your phone also needs some kind of connection to the internet or a mobile signal so that it can send live location updates to you. If your device doesn't have a connection, Bluetooth options fill in the gaps for short-range finding, especially when your phone is nearby but off the grid.

You also need to be signed into a Life360 account with the device registered before anything goes missing. This is the part most people skip until it's too late.

Once those pieces are in place, your device can be located through a mix of GPS (accurate outdoors), Wi-Fi triangulation (helpful indoors), and cell-tower data (useful when signal is spotty). Some apps also use crowdsourced findings. When your device goes offline, nearby users anonymously relay its location back to you. You'll never know who helped, and neither will they.

If none of that was set up ahead of time, you're limited to the last known location before the phone went dark. Not ideal, but still useful. Let's jump into how to get your phone found.

5 Ways to Find Your Phone (Or Your Family Member's)

If everything is set up, there are a handful of ways to locate devices that have gone missing.

1. Retrace Your Steps

Before reaching for any app, take sixty seconds to think through where your phone actually was. The last place you remember using it. The last room you walked through. The last thing you did before the panic set in.

Most phones turn up within ten feet of where their owner last remembers having them: on a counter, slid under something, left in a jacket pocket. A quick mental rewind and a physical sweep of the obvious spots saves a lot of time before you escalate to tech solutions. Check the couch cushions, the car, and the bathroom counter. It sounds obvious, but it works more often than people admit.

If the physical search comes up empty, that's when you move to the methods below.

2. Use Tile to Ring Your Phone (Even on Silent)

If your phone is somewhere nearby (perhaps buried in a couch cushion, hiding under a pile of laundry, or wedged between car seats), your Tile tracker can find it fast.

Just double-press the button on your Tile, and your phone will ring, even if it's on silent. No need to dig through every room. You'll hear it.

This works within Bluetooth range (up to 350 feet) through the Life360 app. It won't help if your phone is across town, but for the classic it's somewhere in this house scenario, it's the fastest fix there is.

3. Find My (iPhone)

Apple's built-in phone finder comes on every iPhone, and it's worth setting up before you ever need it.

Open the Find My app, or sign in at icloud.com from any browser. Your phone will show up on a map with its current location. From there, you can play a sound to help locate it, put it in Lost Mode, or erase it remotely if things look grim.

The key: location services and iCloud need to be set up in advance. If you haven't turned those on yet, that's the first thing to do after reading this.

4. Find My Device (Android)

Android users have the same core capability through Google. Head to android.com/find, sign in to your Google account, and your phone or tablet will show up on a map within the hub.

From there, it's the same playbook as Find My: you can ring it, lock it, or erase it. As long as your phone is on and connected to the internet, you'll be able to see its last known location and take action.

5. Life360 for the Whole Family

If the lost phone isn't yours, there's still hope. Life360 lets you see your phone right alongside your family on one shared map. So when you or anyone in the family asks, Where's my phone, you can use your app to see where everything is in one view.

Place Alerts and location history make it easy to retrace your steps when your phone (or your teen's phone, or your parent's phone) has gone quiet. It works across the whole family of devices, which makes it useful in a way most single-device trackers aren't.

Other Things Tile is Great at Finding...

Once you know your Tile can find your phone, it's worth knowing the rest of what it can do. Slip a Tile Slim into your wallet, and you'll never stand at a checkout counter wondering where it went. Stick a Tile Sticker on your laptop, TV remote, or anything else that tends to disappear. And if you're a pet parent who wants your cat or dog on the same map as everything else, Life360 Pet GPS gives you the real-time location for your pet, right inside the Life360 app, with details displayed alongside your family and your things.

Find Your Phone Before You Lose It

The best phone finder setup is one you put in place before you need it. Enable location services. Register your devices. Link your Tile. Sign in to your accounts.

When something goes missing, you want to be the person who already has the tools ready to go.

Life360 brings your phone, your family, and your favorite things together in one app, so you're not bouncing between four different tools in a panic.
