Life360 works with a limited number of trusted partners to power key features and improve how the app works.

Some partnerships help deliver core functionality or features, like driving insights or subscription tracking. Others use aggregated data for the purpose of understanding broader traffic and retail trends.

You’re in control of how these partnerships work in your experience, with settings available in the app.

Arity is a mobility data and analytics company and subsidiary of The Allstate Corporation that works with Life360 in several ways.


Powering Driving and Crash Features
Arity technology helps power certain driving-related features in the Life360 app.

These features use signals from your phone, like location and motion, to understand when a drive starts and ends, measure speed, and detect potential crashes.

In the app, this functionality is controlled by a setting called Connect to Arity.

Arity is our service provider for the following driving-related features; as such, Connect to Arity is set to on by default. 

When this setting is on, it enables driving-related features such as:

• Drive Detection

• Real-time speed during drives

• Driving history and reports

• Crash Alerts

• Family Driving Summary

If Connect to Arity is turned off, these driving-related features will not be available.

Aggregated Traffic and Driving Insights
In North America, Arity also uses Life360 location data to create aggregated insights. This means data grouped from multiple people and not designed to identify any individual. 

These insights help identify broader patterns, such as traffic flow and high-risk intersections, and may be used by organizations like transportation agencies and insurers for research and planning.

You can control whether your data is used to help generate aggregated insights in the app. See Your Control below.


Optional Insurance Quotes Program
Life360 partners with Arity to offer an optional program, available only in the US, that allows members to request personalized auto insurance quotes based on their driving behavior.

Participation in this program is optional and requires explicit authorization from you to use your driving data for this purpose. 

If you choose to participate:

• You actively request a quote from an insurance company

• You authorize sharing your driving data with the insurance company for that request

• You provide consent to the insurance company each time you participate

Driving insights are based on activity from your device and rely on you to identify in the Life360 app whether you were the driver or a passenger. If you’re not typically the primary driver and have not marked yourself as a passenger, your insights may be less accurate.

Advertising Collaboration
Arity also works with Life360 for advertising purposes.

If you have not turned off Personalized Ads, advertising-related identifiers and other information shared with Arity may be used to deliver relevant ads or measure campaign performance, as explained in our Advertising page.

You can turn off Personalized Ads at any time in the app.

Some partners, like Arity and Placer, use data to power Traffic and Retail Insights, which help understand broader patterns like traffic flow and how places are used.

This is done using aggregated data, meaning information is grouped from many people and not designed to identify any individual.


Participation is optional. You can choose whether your data is used to help generate aggregated insights.

To manage your preferences:

• Open Settings

• Tap Privacy & Security

• Tap Traffic & retail insights 

• Toggle off Include my data

If you turn this setting off, your data will not be used to help generate new aggregated datasets shared with the mentioned partners. Previously created aggregated reports cannot be modified or recalled.

Turning this setting off does not affect your ability to use Life360 features.
