According to the <a href='https://www.ustravel.org/research/monthly-travel-data-report' target='_blank' title='Abre em nova aba'>U.S. Travel Association</a>, travel spending totaled $88 billion dollars as of October 2021 - only a 12% drop below October 2019 levels in comparison. Whether you’re a seasoned traveler, or simply need a change of scenery after the last 2 years, it&#39;s no secret that the travel experience has drastically changed. The entire world is different now and our needs are evolving along with it. So how do you go about finding your next travel destination? <h3> Follow Your Passions to Design the Perfect Trip</h3>In the time before, my trip planning consisted of aggressively Googling top travel destinations for that year by season. Once I had narrowed my list down to 2-3 destinations, I would then scroll through travel accounts and influencer posts on Instagram to see if the general vibe matched what I was looking for. This strategy can still work, but requires more research now for obvious reasons. Try working backwards. Make a list of things you enjoy and begin your search that way, rather than looking up a specific destination first. You might be surprised what you end up finding. For example, if you’re a fan of autumn squash and gardening, it might interest you to visit Germany during the late summer for the Ludwigsburg Pumpkin Festival - which happens to be the world’s largest pumpkin festival! Or, if you’re a hiking enthusiast and want to get your boots dirty beyond the U.S. National Parks, you might want to hit the Inca Trail in Peru. Now if you’re a foodie like me, I would go just for the unlimited ceviche!   <h3>Stay Open to Possibilities</h3>Don’t box yourself in! After another blur of a year, we’re still trying to figure out the new normal. Similarly, our New Year’s routine should be updated to fit our changing needs!

2022, we’ve been waiting for you! After living through nearly 2 years of historic moment after historic moment, it’s difficult to try and pinpoint what the future is going to look like. But one thing you can control is how you decide to step into the new year. If the pandemic has taught us anything, it’s that self-care is paramount. This New Year we’re focusing less on traditional rigid resolutions, and more on creating healthy habits we can maintain long term for a happier life. <h2>Focus on Longevity vs. Short Term Results </h2>We all are very aware of how things can change in an instant, and are lowkey tired of pivoting all the time these last 20-ish months. Focus on bigger picture goals that will add value to your life in the long run, and implement smaller steps on how to get there so it feels achievable over time. A good example of this is - you guessed it - fitness. But not just physical fitness, we’re talking about mental and emotional health as well. Meditating is a great way to both start the day and unwind at night. Now this doesn’t mean jump right into a 45 minute session (unless you’re comfortable doing so). An easy way to begin implementing this game-changing practice is to spend 5-10 minutes a day, and add on as you feel comfortable. There are plenty of apps that offer guided meditations, and you can find countless ones on YouTube as well. Personally, I use any calming meditation music video and leave that on in the background as I try to clear my mind. Start with small changes and gradually add time to devote to your practice as it fits your schedule and needs. <h2> Prioritize What You Need Now </h2>Check in with yourself. What are you feeling? What brings you joy and comfort? Maybe it’s spending more time with your loved ones. Or conversely, maybe you’re feeling overstimulated from the Holiday season and need some space. Maybe you’re craving companionship and have been considering adopting a pet. Whatever it is, make sure you’re doing something that is contributing to your overall wellness. Think of your daily routine and look for ways you can incorporate changes without compromising productivity. If you’ve been working remotely since the pandemic, maybe it’s time you try to work for a few hours from the neighborhood coffee shop. If you travel to work, think about whether it’s doable to take a bike ride or walk. Or, opt for a lunchtime stroll with your coworkers!If you have the luxury of working on your own schedule, feel free to stretch out your tasks as need be.
